Release day!

Good news, good news! Good news, good news. Coyote Rain is out and available today! This is my first m/m release and the first of, I hope, many with Ellora’s Cave! I’ll be dropping in to chat on the Literary Nymphs chat list tonight, so stop by and say hello!

I feel a little overwhelmed and out of my league with this whole thing at the moment, but you know, we all have to start somewhere. There are some very supportive people helping me out, which is fantastic. I’m sure the butterflies will pass.

I hope.

Discussing… me!

I’ve set up a discussion group on Yahoo!Groups (I know, I know). If you’re interested, it’s here. I don’t anticipate it being high traffic, but you know, I’m good with that if the list happens to explode. I like to talk, that’s for sure.

Coyote Rain comes out on Wednesday of this week. I’m both nervous and excited. I s’pect that’s normal, so I’ll just jitter contently in my corner.

News and such.

(Trying this again, since WP ate the first version)

Hey look, it’s been less than a month since my last update. I’m getting better. A little, anyway.

So, Coyote Rain comes out next week. I’m excited to see how it does, and reaction to it. Looking forward to seeing if it starts me off where I want to be. I’ve gotten a few comments about people being eager to read it, so I have my fingers crossed.

I’m starting to look at promotional things too. Maybe doing a couple chats in the next few weeks, to try to get my name out there a little more. I’m pretty sure that, right now, it’s me and the tumbleweeds partying around here.

I finally turned in my contest manuscript to Liquid Silver Books, so we’ll see how that goes too. I realized when I was going through a final edit, that there are no female characters in that story. None. They exist in the world? They just … aren’t on the page. Which is weird, even for me. I mean, I like my guys, don’t get me wrong, but usually I have a heroine or a friend or something. Not this time.

I’m also thinking on newsletters and mailing lists, but that might keep until I’ve got some readers. 🙂

About that updating thing…

Yeah, so much for doing it regularly. Ah well. I will allow myself some slacking off as I’m just starting to get to the point at which I ought to start promotion. I have a cover and a release date, and it’s all good.

Things are about to get even busier.

 But here’s the important stuff:

Coyote Rain is out November 15th from Ellora’s Cave. This is my werecoyote book, and my first m/m. Can’t wait for my boys to get some real air time.

Deadlines.

Deadlines are the bane of my existance as a writer.

Well. No. I lie. Deadlines are good markers for when things should be finished and out the door. But they always creep up faster than we expect them to, don’t they? ‘Oh, that’s not due until the fifteen–OH MY HOLY GOD how did it get to be the twelfth?!’  Yeah. That’s me. Even though I have stuff written down on calendars and post-its and whathaveyou, I’m always surprised that days pass without my consent. Or something.

So, as you might have guessed, I’m up against a deadline and humping hard to make it. Don’t get excited, that’s not as much fun as it sounds. I’m sure I’ll make it in the end, but man, I could do without the sudden bursts of panic and doom.

P’raps this will get better with experience.

Shouting in the Dark

I’m slow, I freely admit that. I’m just getting this blog set up, but that’s all right.  I’m not famous. Yet.

Hey there, and welcome to my blog. If you’re reading this, the odds are good that you know why you’re here, but just in case: My name’s Sienna Black and I’m an author. I write male/male romance, the hotter the better, and I’m just getting started on this career path.  If you want to follow me through the hoops and over obstacles, pull up a cyber chair and settle in. Everyone’s welcome.

If you wandered over here from my website (http://www.sienna-black.com/, btw) I’m aware of the fact that this is *not* quite the right color scheme. It doesn’t bother me, though and I like the designs at the top of this template, so I’m sticking with it.

So what’s the big news? Why do you care that I have a blog?  Well, for starters, I just got offered the opportunity to sign a contract with Ellora’s Cave.  If you’ve never heard of that publishing house, you owe it to yourself to go and check it out.  They’re top of the line in the erotic romance market and I’m thrilled to be one of their authors.  I’ll be publishing a paranormal Quickie (it’s a short novella) featuring a werecoyote and his human partner.

I also won third place in Liquid Silver’s Satisfy Our Naughtier Side contest.  They’ve requested the full of my m/m futuristic, To Touch The Stars. I’m hard at work on getting that polished up.  Here’s hoping that they like it.

And that’s all the news that’s fit to tell for now, but I’ll try to update regularly so don’t hesitate to check back.
